April showers not only bring May flowers but new faces to Clearwater Studios.

Miss Morghan Herring and Miss Alli Bennington are the newest instructors to join I CAN DO! Gymnastics.

Morghan is an experienced gymnast and cheerleader from Goddard. She’ll be instructing the Twinkie Fitness, Young Beginners, Beginners, and Advanced Tumbling Class, in addition to teaching the Indian Spirit Cheerleading class.

Alli is an accomplished tumbler and cheerleader from Clearwater. She’ll be assisting with the Indian Spirit Cheerleaders and the Advanced Tumbling.

Many students are completing their books this month and will be moving up in May. To accommodate all of the students, we will be adding an additional class — Intermediate Tumbling, starting next month.

This class will meet from 6:00- 6:55 p.m. on Mondays. The Beginners Class (Blue Book) will move to 5:00 – 5:55 p.m. on Mondays.

This new class will accommodate  students who have completed Blue Book, preparing them for more advanced tumbling and gymnastics.

Here is how the schedule will look starting next month:

Mondays

5 – 5:55 – Beginners (Blue Book)

6 – 6:55 – Intermediate Tumbling

7 – 7:55 – Indian Spirit Cheer

Tuesdays

4 – 4:45 – Just 3s

5 – 5:55 – Young Beginners (Yellow Book)

6 – 6:45 – Twinkie Fitness (Green Book)

7 – 7:55 – Advanced Tumbling

Farewell Annie!!

Farewell Annie!!

Dear Parents,

Tuesday will be Annie’s last night of instruction at Clearwater Studios.

She has accepted a job much closer to her home in Sedgwick, teaching competitive gymnastics at the Northwest YMCA.

She expressed to us how much she will miss all of the students and that it was a hard decision — but it will be a much better situation for her.

She has helped many students raise their skills to a new level, and brought Cheerleading to Clearwater Studios. We are grateful for her dedication.

We will have a special farewell party for her on Tuesday, March 30th, at 8pm, in the Studio. Please come if you can.

Annie is the fourth head instructor we’ve had the pleasure of having at I CAN DO! Even though the transition at first seems hard for students, parents, and us, things have always gone well — allowing us to learn and grow.

We are currently interviewing several promising candidates to replace Annie and will be adding a new assistant in April, as well.

Most of all, we want to thank you! Without your support (and sometimes patience), we could lose our momentum.

Nothing keeps it going any better than to see all the smiling young faces excited to start another class. Thanks for allowing them to be apart of I CAN DO!

Come Tuesday evening and help us wish Annie all the best!

Hope to see you there,

Stephen & Cathleen Smothers

Spring Break 2010!

Spring Break 2010!

If you are deferring that wonderful get-away till summer (like me) but want to be sure the kids are still having fun over Spring Break, you’ll be glad to know classes will continue as scheduled this week.

Even though some of you might vacation elsewhere over Spring Break, we will still be having fun in, partly-cloudy yet trending warmer, downtown Clearwater. :)

Happy Spring Break 2010!!
